PUPPY SALE AGREEMENT
Congratulations on the purchase of
your new puppy! A puppy is an adventure and a job all wrapped up in one bouncing, licking, loving package. We highly recommend
that you read as much as you can about raising puppies, and specifically about the breed you have chosen. Informed owners
always make better owners! We recommend www.siriuspup.com as one of many great sites on the subject of raising puppies.
Your new puppy has
been raised with great care and love. We do our best to raise healthy, socialized puppies. We guarantee the health of your
puppy against any GENETIC DEFECT for 1 year from the purchase date of the puppy. This includes only genetically caused problems
in the puppy. If a genetic defect is found, the puppy may be returned with a written statement from the veterinarian and the
purchase price of the puppy will be refunded, or you may choose a different puppy to replace the one you are returning. We
cannot be held responsible for any vet expenses that may occur from any genetic complication if you choose to keep the puppy
and seek veterinary treatments. We have never had anyone return a puppy for any genetic complication.
We cannot guarantee against, or be responsible for any expenses incurred from, Parasites in your puppy. Parasites
are very common in puppies and may include various types of worms, coccidia, or giardia. Although we do our very best to prevent
these Parasites, the puppy may require additional treatments to deal with these, because of the different life cycles of these
parasites. We recommend that you take a stool sample to your vet and have it screened to determine whether additional treatment
is necessary. Your puppy has received his/her 1st set of shots and has been wormed for Roundworm.
We highly recommend that you take your new puppy to the vet within 72 hours (3 days) of purchasing him/her. The vet
should perform a full well-puppy exam to verify the health of the puppy and screen the stool sample. A shot/worming record
will be given to you when you take your puppy home. Be sure to keep it updated with any new information that should be added.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU KEEP YOUR PUPPY AWAY FROM ANY PUBLIC LOCATION (PARKS, MALL, PETSTORES, PUBLIC WALKWAYS,
FRONT YARD, ETC…) until he/she has received ALL of the recommended immunizations. A puppy is not fully protected against
Parvo and/or other diseases until he/she has received ALL of his/her shots. Your vet will be able to inform you when this
process is completed. This is for the protection of your new puppy.
Going to a new home is very
stressful on a puppy. You will want to watch the puppy’s stool carefully the first few days that you bring him home.
A normal stool looks like a little log, but puppies can have somewhat loose stools that look very soft. If you see blood in
the stool or yellow gel colored stool, I would advise taking a sample to your vet. Your puppy should eat, drink, and go potty
several times each day, with lots of playing and sleep in between. This is normal behavior for your puppy. Any lethargic behavior,
loss of appetite, or failure to eliminate should be warning signs and you should take your puppy to the vet immediately. This
is just to help you be informed if you see something that doesn’t seem quite right.
We feed
Nutro Max Puppy, and you have been give a sample of the food. Continue to feed this food until it is gone. If you choose to
switch food brands, please do it gradually, following this transitional guideline:
Days 1 &
2-- 70% old food, 30% new food. Days 3 & 4--50% old, 50% new. Days 5 & 6 30% old, 70% new. By Day 7, you can have
him on a completely new food. This should help his digestive system not be overwhelmed with a new food. A sudden change in
food can cause diarrhea in a puppy.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have about
your new puppy. We are here to help you through his growing up months. Our website is www.silverpawkennels.com. You can always reach us by email at silverpawkennels@wildblue.net. Please feel free to call if you need to speak with us in person. (509) 722-3127, or
